At last night’s meeting only 2 minutes into the public aspect there was a mass walkout. This was led by Councillor Webb , East Lindsey District Councillor for Huttoft, closely followed by Councillor Palmer, Lincolnshire County Councillor from Sutton-on-Sea; the Chairman and Clerk of Huttoft Parish Council and finally all but two members of the Parish Council and some members of the public.
The stated reason was that they did not like being recorded, which we did as per the legislation. The law on recording council proceedings can be found in section 1(7) of the Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960. The Act provides for councils to permit the taking of photographs of any proceedings, or the use of any means to enable persons not present to see or hear any proceedings (whether at the time or later), or the making of any oral report on any proceedings as they take place, but does not require a council to give permission.
If this was the true reason, why did they all return to the meeting after the public aspect of the meeting had concluded and continue with their meeting whilst it was being recorded? The subject I was raising was the Huttoft Sex Ring. I believe this was a pre planned action in breach of legislation and basic democratic principles of the UK. At the last meeting a similar discussion resulted in an uproar at the meeting.
As the Huttoft Parish Council, East Lindsey District Council and Lincolnshire County Council have been brought into disrepute by last night’s conduct, l have requested an apology from all three by midnight Sunday 18 May. If I do not receive all three apologies I will publish the recording of the meeting in the public interest.
- Why does a Parish Council react so strongly to such a topic?
- Why did the Huttoft Parish Council “request” that I remove information relating to the Huttoft Sex Ring from this site?
- Why did Huttoft Parish Council attempt to shoot the messenger instead of listening to what I had to say and deal with the facts?
- Why have neither Lincolnshire County Council, East Lindsey District Council or Huttoft Parish Council made a public statement distancing themselves from the Huttoft Sex Ring?
IRONICALLY I WAS ACCUSED OF DISRUPTING THE MEETING. I BELIEVE MIRRORS ARE REQUIRED!
